This week on my 3.2 Elite I've changed the cambelt, thermostat, plugs, changed the brake fluid, and I'm well satisfied, but knackered. ::) ::) ::)
A fine day's work :y

Changed properly and sensible intervals (ie, not GM intervals!!), they are not too bad.  Not as easy as the 4 pots, but there are far worse jobs on the cars...

Must have been changed at least a dozen times in less than 2 years since I've owned this car - doesn't get any better.

I hate them. >:(

Changed oil and filter too, but first go at the cartridge style filter. Think I'll maybe organise the spin on conversion for next time. Also did the front wishbone bushes, swapping them for poly. In essence should have been straightforward, if very time consuming. Turned into a nightmare though, as couldn't get the near side rear bolt to locate.
Ah well, it's done now, and does feel better. Two new front tyres and a geo setup next  :y

Changed the plugs (only to find it's blown a GM rocker cover gasket AGAIN in about 500 miles, even with clear breathers) and gave it a bloody good polish and detail:

Wash with Muc Off Ubershine then dried.
Machine polish with Poorboys White Diamond.
Sealed with Poorboys EX-P sealant.
Waxed with Autoglym HD Wax.

Came in for lunch then because my arms are falling off. The Omega is a bloody big car when it comes to cleaning it like that!

It certainly is!!
Funny the things you forget too when cleaning. I had to remove the jacking covers (obviously) when working on it the other day. The first one I removed was a replacement I added when I got the car before Christmas, and was easy, but the others  :o Thought they were welded on! Note to self for the next time the wash kit comes out  8)
