I fitted a new battery today but there isnt a strap or clamp or anything to hold it in place, what do I need to fix it in position ?
Should be a small metal plate with a hole in the centre which bolts to the battery tray at an angle and hold the battery in position.
If its missing put a wanted ad in the test zone andadmins will move it to the right section for you.
Someone is bound to have a spare one they could let you have.If not,I should have one by this time next week. :y

Bought another one. Collect it on Wednesday.  :y

Successfully delivered 230 litres of veg oil deepest Essex, then headed over to near Stansted airport to collect the latest edition to the Twiglet stable...

I've already started to bond with the old girl, so I expect she'll be staying around for a while...  :y

Washed and MOT'd the Omega.. three advisories; one to say it has plastic sill covers fitted, one to say the exhaust is looking a wee bit threadbare and one to say that the offside front step sill is corroded..

So out of that lot, only really one thing I need to sort out - pull the plastic sill off, see how bad the rust is, grind it out and treat it (and/or weld up the resulting hole!). It's right in the front bottom corner of the drivers door sill..

Still any pass is a good pass!

As is a mate of mine, I wasn't sure if they were retrofittable easily though - is it just a case of cutting a few holes in the carpet and clipping them on, by any chance?

2 bolts one side, 3 the other...

there are dimples on the 'other' side for some, some you do my placement and drill.

bolt through from the rear, so ones by boot door easy via cubbyholes, other end, you remove trim and seat anchor (2 bolts) and you can get in.

Thanks Jimbob, good to know - I'll tell him they're alright to fit, then. And then he can spend his time trying to find a set.. ;D
