i put the original CR2005 back into my facelift omega today...several reasons for this....1..it looks better in the dash..2.works on the steering controls again..3.the illumination is now all the same colour...4..the sound is so much better..5..the display in the dash board shows what station it is on..........I had fitted a Kenwood KRC794..face off with remote control which takes a ten c.d.player...all very nice and a very nice piece of kit  But  it just does not look the part in a facelift.....pre face lift where the dash is different .yes...So i am well pleased with what i have done today  :y

Absolutely loved the drive home from the Oxford meet. The warm weather seems to make the suspension that to tiny bit more compliant. Thins the oil in the shocks a bit maybe :-\

Changed the rear pads :y not a minute too soon though, less than 1 mm each side ::)

Won't be using my local factors ever again after trying to sell me a set of rear pads from an open box and having the barefaced cheek to demand full retail for them, over £14 >:(

Got them from another factor in town for less than £9 8)

I've just done rear pads on a Partner Van (the loan van)... Wish they had been £9 the pair... £43 odd :o :o

Glad you did, mine was shite. A34 was, well, the A34. M40 was full of the same selfish lane hogging 'tards that got off the A34, and PC Plod took a keen interest in me down the A43...  ...I had to turn off the angry music and find some easy listening...   ...and breathe....

Attempted to get the lower pivot bolts out of the XJ40 diff in the garage .. got one out, but I appear to need an (even) bigger impact gun to get the other one out. Even my Ingersoll Rand gun won't shift it. Grrr.

Isn't it odd how some bits of that jag were so solid while others.. erm.. weren't ;D

;D ;D Yep, generally the solid bits are anything that Ford/BL didn't get their hands on! ;D

This bit is wedged in the back end of a Salisbury diff.. the rear cover of which I really need to get off - the old XJ6 (Series) diff was easy, just a bunch of little 1/2" bolts, but this one they decided to have the rear pivot bolts do double-duty and hold the rear cover on as well as the suspension arms. I think the manual says to torque them to 300lb/ft on installation, which explains why it doesn't want to budge!

It was routed between the oil pipes and won't budge so i had to cut it >:(

Sometimes you can cut one end off and pull the other through. No issues with cutting both ends off and leaving the wires there, as you say. Or leaving it dangling for years after hurriedly replacing it when it lets you down. :-X

Removed some rear suspension parts from the estate, and aided a member on here with a cunning plan with his revised suspension and brakes  ;)
