Well today I have fitted new discs and pads all round to dads Astra convertible (2003) it had the Lucas rear calipers which are a total brreze to do. Then moved on to sons Astra (2000) with Bosch rear calipers. What a total joke these calipers are compared to the Lucas ones. Poor quality and what appears to be an easy one bolt removal process is severly hampered by the stupidest pad holding system I have ever come accross. I would rather go back to the old twin piston calipers with pins you need to tap in an out.

If they need doing again I will source Lucas calipers and swap the whole lot over.

Yesterday , removed all the green algae off the sunroof surround seal using just a stiff nylon brush ... very smart looking now , just need to rub down the flaking black paint  :)

Tightened up the cat to mid section exhaust bolts. Needs revisiting though.

Went to scrappy to get a replacement window mech for the inferior FL doors on my PFL

Need to do that on mine, but I keep looking at the rusty bolts and thinking they will shear as soon as a socket gets anywhere near them. ::)

oh it's still rusty. Just now it's two tone as well. Pre face lift paint gone off in the sun no doubt. It's funny, I swapped a bonnet on a certain silver pre face lift and the paint matched up perfectly. Far superior model the face lift. :y

Wheel bearing change during the week, centre track control arm changed yesterday (or what ever you call it), today doing an ashtray conversion so I have two (fused) and hardwired permanent live phone chargers that neatly tuck away ........ this is bound to go wrong! I may even have a poke at the NCDC 2013 whilst it out.

And after that if it's still raining I will avoid digging the large muddy hole in the garden by stripping some more parts from the old CDX as its got to go to omega heaven soon  :( Check my ebay ad if you want anything from it. Wish the person who asked me to list the door A/B sensors would hurry up and buy them!
