Fitted another pass pump. Pas fluid doesn't taste too bad btw. Although the old stuff was very black.

TBH, the majority of the kit will unbolt and transfer but they will be having extra changes... Trouble is, Peugeot insist on Fully Synth 0W-30 and I'm reluctant to bin that at what they charge ::)

I expect they'll be on the road to about 200-250k if I can keep them going at sensible cost ::) But, TBH, they don't do short runs... They're started and run for a minimum of 2-3 hors at a time (as a general rule) and already serviced every 12-15 weeks ::)

With fully synth and that sort of regime the mileage between services is pretty much irrelevant, IMHO. :y
But its diesel, and all the combustion particulates end up suspended in the oil.

Given that CrippleBack wants 250k out of them, I'd be slapping in cheap, fresh oil more regularly.

TBH, the oil isn't getting as dirty as I would have expected (for a Dieseasal) but as soon as they get out of warranty it will be done monthly with Vx Semi :y

You have to remember that neither of the vans live with me and I would have to travel for the changes ;) Plus, when they aren't available they can't earn money ;)

Presumably not on your car, thought all your PAS issues were fixed?

yes mine, it's made no odds to performance but stopped that sqeeky chattering noise on cold starts. Odd. But fixed.

I was very apprehensive about this job tbh. Dunno why, it's quite easy really.

Ordering the Cam sensor tomorrow and then going to hospital to sell a kidney to pay for said part  :'( Hoping to get her running right tomorrow afternoon!

Got the head back on the Astra and it started on the button.....but the OP light would not go out.

Turns out you can't remove the alloy oil filter housing and convert it to the spin on filter as you would do on a V6.

After trying a new switch, dropping the sump and cleaning the pick up pipe and stripping the pump relief valve i put the old filter housing back on and the light went straight out

oh well lets just hope i can get the lid off the filter housing next time round. Apart from that she runs like a dream.
