Jealous of what exactly? That your wheels are bigger than mine? Your tyres are narrower than mine, and both my cars can carry more stuff, and they're both newer ;D

Some people ::)

Drove 3.2 again, thinking it's much smoother than 2.2 ride wise.

I've definitely made the 2.2 a lot firmer, now it has new shocks and new subframe bushes. I preferred it all boat like  ;D

Now do the same to the 3.2 and begin to learn what a capable car it can be...   ...in the knowledge it can stop and change direction far better in emergency scenarios (or just playing) if the need arises.

3.2 sits on standard GM shocks, Boge springs that have only done 15k.

Subframe bushes original though, I like the setup just as it is  :)

Fitted theses...

Monaro CV8 vented rears, 286x18, courtesy of Monkfish... :y

Caliper carriers, inboard pads and backing plates needed trimming, but otherwise bolt straight on. Disc is standard vented Omega. Also need to fabricate a bracket to secure the pipe to the carrier mounting bolt to prevent unnecessary movement as it as currently unsupported.

But puts an end to oppsarsing about trying to get replacement rear calipers 8)

There was one conundrum, the solution for which is simplicity itself, but I shall see if anyone spots it first ::)

Floating calliper + rigid brake pipe. What can possibly go wrong?  :-X

That's a) not the conundrum, and b) what the brackets will be for...

In the overhead pic you cannot see a six inch loop of flexible hose ;)

The Omega has a flex hose between the body and suspension arm to cope with suspension movement. It doesn’t need one between the suspension arm and the caliper because the Omega caliper is an opposed piston caliper bolted rigidly to the arm. You are fitting a different type of caliper that moves relative to the suspension arm.

Hence the flexible hose (that you cannot see in the pic)

Rigid pipe is in its traditional place, flexi fitting drops down and round the bleed nipple and loops back up to the rigid pipe. Once bracketed to the trailing arm, the rigid pipe will be rigid again whilst the flexi will allow the caliper to work as designed ;)

You can't see the bleed screw as it sits below the pipe connection... This poses an issue when bleeding the caliper.

However, if you remove the caliper from the carrier, it hangs upside-down placing the bleed screw at the top, making bleeding nice and straightforward  ;)

Those pads don't cover the whole disc face.

That's because the Monaro disc hub has a 185mm inner diameter. They contact the same radius as they would in their intended application...
