Had another attempt at removing the window tints, this time used the steamer which worked a lot better. Still struggling with the glue residue on one window and getting the final shreds off the lower edge of the rear window.

Tried nail varnish remover? Worked for me  :y
Googled and YouTubed the options last night and tried the common option of a new Stanley knife blade and some window cleaner and that's done a good job, once you loose the fear of scratching the glass then the glue comes off quite easily.

Just got to get the odd strips of glue off the rear window now which will be a slow process with the HRW elements on the surface.

Fitted another check strap bush, this time on the drivers side.

It's getting there!
Bettaware Sticky Stuff remover is pretty good stuff :y
Tried it when I took the first tint off and it didn't touch it. Best method is steamer followed by tidying up with a blade and soapy water / glass cleaner.

4 new tyres fitted today all went well, appointment 10:30 at MoTest Swindon with tyres from Blackcircles free coffee tea or hot chocolate 40 minuets later and I'm home, total saving £120.

Just fitted the poly rear bushes, but now have a coolant leak from coolant bridge area, job for tomorrow me thinks :y

Done nothing to the car as a week has gone by now without the need to pump the tyres up every day. Fingers crossed it seems like the wheels refurb has done the job.  :y

Acted as "tool hander and brew maker" for MrsGK as she swapped ECU and bits... and it worked! Just the "wheres me slushbox" spanner light on, which we can live with...
Shes also fitted new handbrake springs to her Golf... she'll need her own toolbox at this rate!

Dinitroled the engine bay , not as shiny as it was  sort of mat finish but more corrosion resistant resealed the oil cooler cover as heads were of but NOW there on and me back hurts from 16 head bolts and the torqueing they require. Satisfying though to see it coming together :)

Oil cooler change yesterday, not a nice job to do, old cooler had almost no sealant on it. Just hanging around for the 24 hours to be up so I can put some fresh coolant in now, engine all back together and another oil change as it has 100K on it now plus about 400 miles. Had to have the oil filter off to do the cooler so why not I say.

Hope that is the coolant leak fixed as I need to get out and test the rear poly's

All done, don't see much of a change with the poly's on the rear donuts :-\
