Fitted a new high pressure valve to A/C system  :y  and then decided to check the condenser.  ::)

When I ran my fingers lightly over the aluminium fins along the bottom they instantly turned to dust.  :(

I guess that's kaput as well?  :-\

crossed my fingers and took off the elite's sill cover and was pleasantly surprised to find this

only a tiny bit of surface rust in a few places otherwise spotless,if only my previous MK2 Astra had been the same.

John.
I really need to do that to one of mine....   ....but I'm too scared  ::)

Changed the fuel filter on the TD and gave it some Diesel Magic, but with the coolant reservoir removed for access, found the tin-worm in residence around the inner wing shield plug underneath, so cleaned that and painted it a delicate gold shade of Hammerite. ::) :y

Fixed the cracking noise that the NSF door has made since I bought the car.

I fitted a new bush to the checkstrap last year, but it didn't help. The hole for the pin had worn oval, and I couldn't be bothered to fix it. Today, I decided to measure for a new pin and repair washer. After closing the door, I had to pull the checkstrap back out to refit everything. It was a bit stuck, and required a hefty tug to get it back out. That has fixed the original problem; it's only taken 5 years to do 5minutes 'work'

Rebuilt m engine....

Radiator arrived - thankfully - so that got fitted...

Filled it with water and antifreeze, put some oil in the engine....

Crossed my fingers, and switched on the ignition.... waited for the fuel pump to prime the injector rail..... turned the ignition to start the engine... it only went and fired up first time... no cranking and hoping....

Happy Days, just hope this radiator lasts more than a week and half.....

Estate LPG failed the MOT, OSFL Suspension Arm Rubber Bush excessive movement, ARB Ball Joint dust cover excessively damaged, read pads less than 1.5mm.

Could be worse I guess!

Killing myself detailing the car this evening by hand and with the DA polisher, Spent the best part of 2 hours on the bonnet alone it's now like glass. Spent just an hour on the boot lid last evening. It's much improved cant wait to see the whole car done. If the weather is fine i'll have a go at the roof tomorrow. Stiff as a board now  ;D
