Where do I send the cigar Kevin ?  :D
A squirt of WD, left it an hour or so, plugged the connector in and fired it up. All back to normal.  :y

I love it when a plan comes together. :y

Fitted a new (to me) climate panel. Looks much better, but the headunit now sits about 2mm proud of the dash which is annoying.
Have pushed it as hard as I dare but it doesn't want to go fully home for some reason.  :-\

Is it's cage a fully enclosed type, where connectros clip in cage (like FL Omegas)? In which case, check cage around connectors for distortion.

If not fully enclosed, its likely to be bundles of wires in the way stopping it fully seating back.

NCDC 2013.  :y...............was a real struggle to pullthe headunit out, but I suppose I will have to bite the bullet at some point and do it again. Might buy some better quality removal tools first tough.

Managed to get bonnet open, refitted battery, inflated rear tyres. Then drove it[first time it's turned a wheel since last November!]quarter mile to lock up garage.Happily it just fits in[this was my main worry when renting the garage]so it will now hibernate until warmer weather returns next year when I'll fit the new oil cooler and other bits I've got for cooling system.

Does FM work? Is Satnav getting a signal?

On Omegas, its not uncommon for one of the antenna socket holders to distort.

Bought it a battery... Failed to start earlier... After a decent run following a jump start it contained a measly 12.3 volts...

It was a Bmw battery, and whilst I am not naive enough to believe that it was original, I have no idea when it was fitted.

Alternator is working as advertised using Kevins excellent guide, so confident that the battery is on its way out.

Fitted the new late MV6/Elite alloys that I aquired from James, to the CDX estate.

Very pleased with my DIY refurbing in Star Silver . .   ;) ;)

IMO the car looks much more appealing to the eye with these wheels on   :P :P

Started to  give it a light cut & polish . .  managed roof, tailgate, rear bumper, all the passenger side & the front bumper.  That leaves just the drivers side front wing & both doors for next weekend :y     oh & a quick refurb of the black bits 8) 8)

Refitted scuttle panel & wipers. sealing scuttle (hopefully) in the process.
During this weeks work I have lost a wiper cap and plenum cap  ::) Which means I have to root through the boxes of spares in the hope of finding replacements.

Just remove the others. Problem solved. For ever.

Everything works fine, it just sits slightly proud of where it should be.
