I stumbled into a local opel dealership on a whim to see if I could get a HP valve for my ac line. In majorca on hols.

After the non englaisi speaking mechanic  came to see me I showed him a pic and gave the 2 part numbers.

He came back to me with just a written note of the price 6.41€

I asked if it would need to be ordered in he smiled and whipped it from his pocket

I paid and left with a smile then got hit with the sun upon reaching the door.

Removed the boot side panels from the Jag and brought them indoors.  Fitted the side cargo nets to them that Mrs TB got me for my burfday. Now waiting for rain to stop so I can put the panels back in the car.  Will probably be much later this afternoon, as a couple of work colleagues are popping over this afternoon to pick up their shiny new MacBooks that I keep tripping over in the hallway ;D

Put the panels back in the boot of the Jag, after gluing one of the anti rattle pads back in place.  Someone has been in there before, as a clip is also missing.

Checked the state of the air filter, knowing it had FSH, and therefore had probably never been done.  Pulled out a couple of bales of straw from the airbox, and had to blow an airline through the filter. It was minging.  New filter ordered now.

That area on mine is starting to go like so many of these cars. but I need to either practice my welding or find someone who can do a decent job for a reasonable price because the front chassis legs near the front subframe mounts need doing sooner rather than later..

Hi Neil

Front chassis legs around subframe?   :-\:o

Many Omegas where wreaked because of this problem.

I solved it last year on my saloon. No easy work. There are 3 layers tin. To work engineside is not possible without disassembling drive train and subframe.

My Caravan (I work on it actually) is not so bad, I think he goes through Tuev (MOT) in September. But I want to prepare him for the next decades. So I am planing to take him out of use in March 18 for 6 months. I will remove engine, gear box, front suspension and subframe. So the way is free to renew the chassis front legs from the inside to the outside.

I will report.

Attached pictures are taken during the work on my saloon early 2016. She passes Tuev in June 16 and did only 1500 summer miles since that. Actually the old Lady is sleeping in the sunny side of my garage yard.I think next Tuev in June 18 will be no problem.

Nothing is impossible ;)

Fitted front and rear dash cams to mine. Very happy with the quality of the image and ease of setup was surprising. However I discovered that the fuse board in the rear of the s80 is always live. So I either need to get a battery saver or run both off the front fuses. Not decided which yet.

Having Protection whilst parked would be great, even if only until the battery depletes to a certain level. However I'm not sure how long the memory cards would last in this scenario. I was surprised (as I didn't research) that a 32gb card only gives an hr or so of recording. So I'll already be doing about 15 writes per week just with my commute :/. Parking protection is likely to shorten the lives yet further

Short version: Blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter socket  ::)

Long version: Plugged my little FM transmitter into the cigarette lighter and it didn't power up. "That's odd," I thought. Peered into the lighter socket and saw that the little U shaped bit that is riveted to the positive side had come adrift. "Ah," I thought, as I stuck my finger in and ... CRACK. Well, that's the little U shaped bit DC welded to the negative side, then!  ;D ;D ;D
