Just phoned Vx & they have the gaskets but no O rings or sealant, they say they'll have them by Fri, cutting it a bit fine but, hey that's Vx!

Make sure they gave you all the gaskets, they swore they gave me the full set but it was only one side.

Cheers, I'll make sure I ask.
Just remembered there is another dealer nearby & they have everything so I'll pick them up on my way home.

Don't ask, that was my mistake!  Take them out of the bags and check yourself.

We have a V6 at the 2.2 party since the V6 location is full!!!

Nothing wrong with the 4pots, I get 10mpg better at 80+ in the 2.2 compared to the Senator!
.... apparently if you take your foot off the accelerator in the sennie the MPG improves  ;)

I'll be bringing (but not using) my locking kit & 30mm spanner so they can be used at either location (or both) ...

I managed to squeeze 37 mpg from the Senator on the run back to uni, but that was doing 65 mph all the way back!

I can get 36mpg doing 85mph with 3 people in the car in the 2.2 on a motorway run!

That extra kit will come in handy! Thanks!  :y
It should get more economical after every speed bump, as more and more bits/rust fall off....

Ohh ha de ha ha  >:(

Is anyone bringing their own down?

Is there anything that anyone needs me to bring?  I have a Vaux dealer just up the road from me and if people who can not get hold of parts, I will be glad to see if they have in stock and get whatever is required ;)

Similarly, if Axel Stands are required, a jack, breaker bars etc, I will be pleased to assist.

Just let me know. ;)

Looking forward to the day and to meeting you all. :) :)

Black wiggly bits?!

IIRC there are 2 gaskets per side, so 4 in total.  Mainly, just be sure that you have enough gaskets for 2 full loops.  It should be easy to tell.

Same goes for me. I haven't got cam locking kits and the like but I've got most general purpose tools and I'll try and bring a selection of bits and pieces. I guess even if we're short of locking kits, if we've got a good supply of sockets, torque wrenches, etc the more cars we can prep. for the belt change in parallel.

Downside to this is that we could end up trying to sort out a great big pile of tools at the end of the day if we're not careful! One toolkit working on one car at a time might be a good rule!

Kevin, x25xe...

I have most tools, but I don't have a torque wrench! - It may come in handy if you have one  :y

I have everything else, that Halfords 150 piece set, axel stands and such....

I have a jack, but its one of the small ones. Not a decent 'man' one like Mark has  ;D
