Project AA.
« on: 07 August 2010, 07:04:13 »

Collected my new 2.6 CDX with full leathers yesterday.

Bought as seen, from a dealer, so got a good discount.

Problems:-

Noisey front offside wheel bearing.

O2 sensor emmissions problems (previous owner has got bills amounting to £590 trying to sort it, from Surefit :o)

Needs a proper service, plugs, breathers, filters etc.

Needs a cambelt change.

Other than that it's fine ;D

Pictures of your 1/3 addition?

And I take it the emissions issue is a bit more involved than the normal pre cat issue?

Right done a bit of work.

Tried to change the oil first, no go, can't get the oil filter undone >:(

Spent an hour and a half trying.

Front door strap washers changed, to stop the crack of doom.

Changed the pollen filter.

Changed the air filter, underneath the air filter, blocking the air intake was a dirty great oily wrag :o

Got the multi rams working, just needed a bit of release oil on them.

Got rid of 2 of the 4 fault codes.

Didn't change the plugs, will wait for Newent.

Another day Lizzie, bit cream crackered after lying on my back trying to get the oil filter off.

At my age now (Oh to be 30 years younger), I have to take my time with things :(

Have they tried a known good sensor from a breaker?
Won't a 2.6 be a bit too fast for you AA? ;D
It's going to want to do more than 49mph in the middle lane you know.

Kevin's hopefully going to sort out the sensor issues at Newent.

No it's not too fast, drive it locked in first gear... ;)

The frustrating bit is what I used to be able to do in my stride, I am now reliant on other people to do.

It makes me a bit depressed at times :(
