Renewed the power steering fluid, as the old was like water and smelt rather burnt, next job is autobox fluid change, anyone know where i can get the gaskets from or are they cheap enough from the stealers.

There's a chap in the back of the AutobahnStormers mag who sells the set of auto box gaskets plus filter for about £30 plus postage, if you're a member. :y

fitted replacement NCDC2013, and A CID ....   and then discovered a wiring fault....  intermittent CID...  mostly not working....   wiggling plug around and pulling loom  found that it worked only in a certain position....  so, loom chopped, spliced and plug replaced...  (huge thanks to RobG for having a spare one and the presence of mind to make me take it with me ! )

bingo it all works, and looks wonderful, FINALLY i can see what the sat nav is trying to tell me,  FINALLY i can actually read the trip computer data....    YAAAAYYYYY    chuffed to flippin bits////

casualties....   lost 1 screw down the steering column, another behind the vents,   and one of the steering column cowl screws has vanished....  need to visit a scrappy and obtain said screws....

and the NCDC doesn't have a broken front....  so no more rattle.... and it sits in the facia properly....      and the disc cart all works....   good grief i'm pleased !!!!

Glad you`re happy (or should I say overly elated ;D) Max. Nice to meet you. :y :y
Assume it was a dodgy wire in your loom then :-\

Swapped the winter wheels for the summer ones - damn the alloys are heavy compared to the steelies with winter tyres!
Tried to undo the whip aerial again and gave up as it just goes round and round and round and .. whoops.
Donated a set of rear pads to a friend who turned up with his DTi making odd noises - that'll be because the 105,000 mile rear pads had disintegrated then.
And took this off the Jag:

(The axle set obviously, not the T56 6 speed in the picture ;D)

Well the thought has occurred to me,  gonna see if TB has a bit of time to play with it again....  the dodgy loom would definitely have screwed up the attempt to pair the CID....  so.....     it would cheer twiglet up no end if i could hand him a known workable unit at the essex meet....  or at least he'd know for sure one way or another....

also, even more thanks to  Rob for the battery......   will fit that tomorrow.....   much appreciated.....  (and the practice set of fog lamps for lens polishing experiments...  )
