I was thinking would that do, but what kind of pressure comes out of the filter as the outlet pipe from the filter is smooth with no lip for the jubilee clip to hold on :-\

Use one of those pipe clamp clips Joff, that seal up tight. :y

I'll freely admit to being no electrician. That question was about whether it was necessary and the best way of approaching it ::)

If summat doesn't work as advertised, then there must, by definition, be summat wrong with it. The multirams are there for a reason... I could link to the detailed and informative item in the Maintenance Guides about them, but given you'd not likely read it, I frankly cba :-X

And if we're going oppsing, best bring some johnnies, wellies and a torch :y

Jubilee clips on hose work fine in such situations, I've done several FI conversions that way. Although I do like to have plenty of pipe inserted into the hose wherever possible, just to be sure.

Today (actually yesterday) I fitted a brand new K&N filter then proceeded to permanently open the butterfly valves on the plenums :)

The result - a much smoother accelerating Omega and power there when needed not when the flaps open (haha) at 3500 RPM :)
Oh lordy ::)

Why didn't Vauxhall think of that?

Could've saved them a fortune.

I guess you don't often need much under 4K RPM, then?
That sums it up really...

There's an absolute goldmine of information here in The FAQ section and Maintenance Guides, yet people still insist that they know best...

If the you understood the way that the multirams operated, then you would have established that summat was amiss, but rather than investigating/fixing the problem you have disabled them.
Experimenting is one thing... Being totally retarded is another IMHO :-X

If holding the multi ram open sees an improvement in performance, I wonder...

...where they working correctly to start with...? I'd suggest not.
