Drove home from Gloucester after a few days away in the south west (800 mile tour). Car perfect.

Replaced drop links (again >:().
So much easier when you jack up both sides, and have decent ratchet spanners  ;D

Broken it  >:(

Being alloy rather than cast iron, I've stripped the thread in one... Have tapped out and run a die over the bolt, but the thread is oppsed...

What are the options for repairing?

Tother side took really well and is fluid tight, but drivers sideis being an arse...

Presumably if I keep tapping it with an M10 tap, I'll end up with an M10 hole :-\

???
What have you stripped? The pictures don't help because no car I know of has cast iron wheels ???
The drive flanges are steel alloy (not aluminium) and it will take extreme abuse to damage the thread (but a windy gun & a crossed thread might do it :-\)
A good second hand flange would be the straightforward way of fixing the problem.

The first 6 or so mm from where the brake hose banjo bolts to the caliper...

The two options as I see it are either longer bolts to reach the good thread further in, or helicoils but I'm not sure if this application suits their use, hence my separate post :-\

Ah. That's annoying. :(

Bigger bolt? Won't fit the hose then, I guess. Worth a word with goodridge,? See if such a thing as an over sized banjo bolt and banjo exists, in such an instance?

A bigger banjo and bolt from a different application or vehicle?  :-\

If so, I guess a course of action would be to get a machine shop to drill and re tsp a bigger hole, and give that size to goodridge and get the new hoses made up.

I know they do custom fittings onto any braided line. Just depends if they can match the new banjo bore size on the calliper, to the rest of the omega system.

Long shot, but worth a call I guess. :-\

Got started on fitting the new exhaust to the 2.6 today, had to drill out all four mounting studs on the cats, well that was a larf! NOT! >:( . Anyway got them all drilled out and the centre sections fitted before my spine finally gave out about 2 hours ago, not much fun doing that on the drive with axle stands. Will get the back-box fitted tomorrow morning.
