Spent a leisurely half hour changing the alternator on the 525...

It works, and is shiny, but hasn't fixed the gearbox issue. Same codes still present >:(

Car can go as it is...
Caveat emptor.  ;D

Little trip to Serek's to have the HBV changed ... so .. just how does he do it in less than an hour and without the requirement of a single sticking plaster ???

Genius the man is .. :)

Also discussed the next "little" job he's going to do ... all day one that "might" run into two if things go badly...  :(

Was embarrassed into throwing some water over the big kitty by comments on the Serek thread.  Turns out kitty is black.

New windscreen Thursday afternoon & mot Friday & she`s only passed  :y :y

Advisory  : both rear shocks light misting.

She struggled to pass the emissions & my bloke say`s the cat is gettin lazy ???

I`ve noticed recently that the coolant temp reads lower now at around 80 c.  ???

I think my car is feelin her age a bit, but still only 52k miles on the clock

Even if you can't see the outside (that's what I say about the pig ugly arse of the Jaaaagggg), being a 51 plate, you are still borderline having the brown dash...   ...and brown steering wheel, that's like holding a turd ;D

Change the stat and the shocks, and next time its due an MOT, give it a good thrashing beforehand for 20mins, then take straight to MOT and get them to do it immediately then (I always booked first appointment for the day for this very reason - even then he always grumbled he had to get the cat hot again).

Stat on 2.2 is nice and easy, and rear shocks on any Omega are straightforward - but if original, might need a decent bar to undo bottom bolt.

Yer will do. The stat was a pattern part & changed out when we did the water pump & cam belt 3 years ago. Never pays to use cheap parts does it  ::)
