It was showing ~25mpg on the display, IIRC.. so yeah, not exactly frugal (compared to his DTi Omega ;D)

Saturday was spent driving: Northampton->Welwyn->Northampton->Barford->Northampton to help a friend (who lives in Welwyn) pick up his new Omega replacement..

..which is a very nice Subaru Legacy 3.0 Spec B with Prins LPG conversion.
Goes very well indeed, even on gas, and the 66L toroidal tank fits flush under the boot floor in the spare wheel well.

I should have bought one of those instead of the Skoda but, sshhh, don't tell anyone I said that.

I always fancied one of these!  :y

He'll be glad of the LPG though as apparently they're very thirsty beasties!  ;)

When I'm searching petrol estates, these are popping up as well. Tempted.

Not a massive fan of the interior going by the photos, but I need to sit in one. Not a bad price, but would imagine the 2007+ era suffer the insane £50/m tax rate.  :(

Yup, his is in the £500 tax bracket.

The interior is a little "of its time", shall we say, and very typically Japanese.

The Hyandri Appliance has at least addressed the issue of using the wipers to indicate ::)

It also has genuine plastic in abandon,  including fake stitching moulded into the edges of the armrests, British Leyland stylee :D

Ahh.. I drove my step-mother-in-law's older Hyundai Appliance a couple of weeks back and it had them @rse-about.

I wish I'd noticed the state of the rear disks first, otherwise first stop would have been Hellfrauds for some new ones. :o

That is crazy.

It doesn't cost any more than that to tax a Signum. ::) ::) ::) :)

My car wouldn't start. Thought it was the crank sensor (again). It wasn't. Serek came to the rescue and diagnosed a faulty and fitted a new fuel pump. Just done Huntingdon to London. Top man!  :y

ps. SWMBO says if the car fails again I should buy a new one. Fingers crossed.  ;)

Drove it to the MOT test station, collected it an hour later with a years ticket and no advisories  :y

Saw another rare silver Omega estate on the way there - first one I've seen in well over a year!

Failed an MOT broken drivers side front spring  :-\

Got the strut off, just pondering how to compress it without hurting myself....

Right at the bottom end, I'd not even noticed and the missing few inches are nowhere to be seen.

ROBUST Spring compressors ::)

Fixed that for you. If you don't have any compressors, then don't attempt the job.
As you've got the strut off, why not take it and your new spring to a garage who has the proper equipment, and get them to do it for you? That's five minutes work; it's worth offering a donation to their tea fund.
