I saw diesel on the motorway yesterday at 1.80 --------
Diesel on the motorway? Sounds dangerous as well as expensive.

Not to mention wasteful.

Changed the strut top mounts, ARB bushes and links on the daily VWT5 van. It should have been a weekend job, but the inner driveshaft popped out, and I needed help from another (younger/stronger) pair of hands to realign it.  Hopefully a lot of the knocks and bangs will be sorted now and I can put it up for sale. :y

Yesterday, finished putting Pierre back together. Couldnt go for a test drive as Insurance ran out a few weeks ago, but ran the engine on the drive for quite a while and it appears to now be oil tight.
Have now insured it and will take it to work tonight. Im praying its permanently fixed because I really cant afford to keep using the Omega
for commuting.

Car was a bit sluggish turning over this morning. Once started, the indicator relay was slow and the air con display had some elements missing. Battery, I thought. Got to the woods with dog at about nine, rang my go to chappie who said 'I'll order one, half ten okay?'. Down to garage at 10:30, battery fitted and home now. £107, no dramas, just as it should be.  :y

You mean you didn't shop around, try to get Trade Club (after explaining what TC is to a clueless 12 year old), then spend 2 days waiting for it to arrive, 20mins finding a tool kit, followed by 20mins removing the skin from your knuckles  ???.....

Surely you're on the wrong forum?  ;)

Are you sure the battery is donald ducked?

In another life I owned a Datsun with a battery that kept going flat. New battery didn't cure it, and it turned out to be a faulty voltage regulator.

Was it the original battery?
