Roughly 2200KG......so a proper fat bastard.

.....and it's made from aluminium. :o :o :o

Over half of that will be the Duracell!  :)

Don't park it on your lawn for the photo.... It will sink!  :o   On the other hand we could do with a laugh!  ;D

......
Looking on the bright side there is £0 road tax this year, but £195 after that. :-X

Lucky for you that the new rules (40K+ snob tax) for EV's started for EV's registered after 1st April 2025, otherwise you'd be paying £195 + £425.  :y

Quote: A new Jaguar I-PACE, registered on or after April 1, 2025, will pay a first-year road tax of £10, with a standard rate of £195 for subsequent years if the on-the-road price is below £40,000. If the on-the-road price exceeds £40,000, the first-year tax will be £435 (including the expensive car supplement), and £425 will be added annually for five years after the second tax payment.

So, when Mrs Opti replaces it with a new one a few years down the line you'll be back to £195 + £425. They are taking the piss aren't they.  >:(

They've been quite canny.

All remaining I-Pace were registered on 1st March (so they get a 25 plate) but a month before the government 'theft tax' of £425 for the next 5 years kicks in saving a total of £2125.

I'm into year 2 of paying the extra £425 on the BMW which I'm not happy about. >:(

Also, how is it fair that an electric car will pay £195 from next year when an old duffer from Barnsley only pays £20 as his derv Grandland  belches black smoke into the atmosphere. >:D

Can't be right, can it. :)
£195 for the grandland

So an F-type costs the same to tax as a belching derv.

There is a God after all. ;D

I'm guessing Mrs The Boy's derv is from before 2017.

I think old man STMO has to pay £195 because his car is a later model.

Fingers crossed the new O rings have stopped the heater pipe flange leaking, ran the engine up for ages to make sure, got a noisy tappet on one cyl but it stops if the revs are picked up slightly. Exhaust smells like high hydro carbons but if so the engine light would come on ? Thermostat opened this time as had to top up coolant a lot, fitted the dash back in so can finish that tomorrow ,

A few odds & ends on the Boxster, hopefully getting it ready for its next owner.
Havent got to the bottom of the coolant smell, so will reduce the price a bit and hope he still wants it.
Owned it for over four years and should still make a profit on it, which is a rare thing for me and my cars.

Took it out and checked it. Its fine. In fact it looks quite new. I was really hoping that would be the culprit, but nope.

Been advised the same on Porsche forum
Most of the hose clips look a bit tired with some rust visible, but no signs of leakage. Leak may be so small it could be like a vapour and not a visible leak.
Im not going to remove and replace them all though. Im at the point where Ive done all Im going to do and its going as it is.

Fitted new rear pads to the Yeti, the material had broken off the backing. Old ones were tight in the housing even though there was still grease on slides, didnt stop the build up of rust under the anti rattle shims. Lots of copper slip after a good scrape and the new ones slipped right in.

Dropped the Monsit into the local ATS and went and sat on my arse in the Costa round the corner, and drank coffee while they changed the oil and filter.  :)
