I just booked swmbo's yeti in for its first service, they're coming to collect it next week. I also collected the filters to do the Desmond this afternoon (that plus tow bar are a good excuse to be out in the sun listening to the 6 nations   8)).

How much is the vw service? We paid £299 for 3 services upfront with the yeti so not sure how much they are paying individually.

Dealer wants £160 for minor service, it's only filters and oil so chuffing expensive. But it has fully stamped book so far, it does need an oil change and I can't be bothered to do it.  ;D

I'm dropping it off in morning and my car share buddy will drive that day  :)

£299 is a damn good deal, did you buy the Yeti from VW?

Skoda probably... too slow :P

Note of caution re VAG servicing... each brand has different cambelt intervals. Nothing strange about that on the face of it, but will apply to the SAME engine. SEAT couldn't tell me which was correct, and eventually settled on 70k or 4 years which I had them confirm in writing. Just in case.

5yrs not so bad. 140k makes me cringe. But they doubtless know better than I!  :y

Yes it was a deal from skoda, but only available on new cars (although it is an occasional sweeter on their used finance). TBH cambelt doesn't concern me as we probably won't run the car outside of extended warranty. SWMBO likes a new car and the monthlies are good value for peace & quiet ;).

TBH I haven't even checked of it's belt or chain cam  :-X. But I'll bet it's belt.

Then it's probably belt drive. They switched around 2015 from chain, which had a habit of snapping/stretching.
