I can't see anywhere where a sd card would live. There is a drawer on the side of the laptop for a disc but that is empty. Down at the bottom right of the screen are several icons one of which is a white square and if I put the arrow on that it shows vida eupdate. I've not clicked on it but would doing so acheive anything? The laptop itself is a Lenovo 80MJ and is solely used for vida.

Its done 121000 miles.
I also suspect it hasnt been done before, so Im glad I changed it. Apparently it can cause serious problems on these if ignored.
It seemed quieter and smoother when I drove it afterwards, but that could well be wishful thinking on my part.

Is it still running on the original PP9?

Positive placebo is a wonderful thing. :y

Yes still on the original PP9. 73% battery health. If sticking to the battery healthy charging range of 20% - 80% the useable range isnt much more than 50 miles.
My commute is 17 miles each way so it suits my needs.
It might get a bit tight in Winter when the heater is used, as apparently that runs off the big battery rather than the 12v that all other ancillaries run off.
If needs be, I can top it up a bit at home using the granny charger.
Will post up a couple of pics when I can be arsed.

Not really sure I understand the purpose of this topic but let's try.

Today I bought a white 91' Vectra GT 20SEH, basically an SRI Cavalier for my fellow british guys :y

I removed rear bumper and the shell is as crusty as a bag of Tyrrells chips :D The poor car spent its life by the sea in Corsica, and every bit of steel uncovered by paint is literally orange. The rust also comes out from under the paint by very small circles of 1 or 2mm, like bubbles. I'm still not sure I'll keep the shell, because the engine is so great on the other hand :-\

I was in search of this particular car because it's the car from my childhood and it's been years I was looking for one, but so rare in France.
Funny thing, it was red, the same as Lewis father 8) ;D

Nice project!  :y  Hope you can kick it into shape.  ;D

It was projectile vomit green.

Exactly the same colour that Linda Blair puked out in the Exorcist. :)

Ah, does the laptop run Windows or Linux? And is the OS OK?

Might be just the app needs removing and reinstalling.

It's running windows the rest I don't know but will get grandaughter to check. As it happens tried it again this morning and it still wouldn't allow selecting diagnostics so randomly clicking on other parts of vida I managed to bring up a fault code 593 which on looking this up says it's the rear right sensor so I'm going to order one and see where I go from there.

Don't assume its sensor, check state of reluctor ring (they corrode, fall apart, and the sensors then can't count it's teeth properly)

Im more than happy with it for the price. Its the later Tekna model which I think was new for 2017.
It has a superb Bose stereo, Nav, bluetooth, cruise, climate control, TPMS and god knows how many other things that are far too modern for me.
It told me to take a nap on the way home from work the other morning,as apparently my driving had become a bit erratic !  :o
If it had 10% more battery health it would probably have been twice the price, but it suits my requirements as it is.
Until the start of this month I could switch charging and climate control on / off from my phone, but Nissan have now switched that app off for cars older than about 5 years old. Bastards.  ::)

Have you checked out the price of a new or (probably more financially prudent) reconditioned battery.

A recon battery may not be as much as you think. It may even be possible to upgrade to a battery with more capacity. :y

Second hand battery packs are expensive. As in almost as much as the car cost for a known good one.
Its not difficult to identify individual weak cells though ( via the Leafspy app on my phone) which arent too expensive to replace.
Not sure its a job for the inexperienced though. If you get it wrong your demise and cremation all take place at the same time.  ;D
Might buy a pair of big thick rubber gloves and give it a go when the time comes.  :D

It is indeed possible to upgrade from a 30kw to a 40kw or even 60kw battery, and can be done on the drive, but again its the cost which doesnt add up for me.
