The extra weight would mean he'd only get about 10 miles from a full charge  :)

Apparently Lidl are going to be selling solar panels soon.
I could put some on the roof of my 8x16 shed and use the  leccy to charge the milkfloat.  :D

As the battery life is currently good enough for you, worry about that when it isn't ;D

At about 400W per panel, that would take a while.

Not been on for a while as the Austin Omega has been laid up over the winter but I took it to the Kickback show at Malvern the other week, drove lovely. Engine starts to GO after 4k revs, might be my intake system?

Got under the Omega today to yet again try to track down the cause of the knock / clunk when driving over ripples surfaces.
Its been doing it for about three years but has bee noticeably worse recently.
Doesnt seem to be any of the usual things like droplinks or balljoints, and nothing picked up on MOT,s either.
Didnt find the cause but found that the diff is leaking at the n/s, transmission leaking from the rear, engine leaking from front and rear crank seals and rear shocks are quite "misty".
All that plus cambelt is overdue on time, Im wondering if the end is nigh.  ;( ;(
Will have a think about how to proceed. Maybe keep driving it as it is until something lets go, or it fails the MOT on something expensive ?

Never mind, Albs, you can't keep them going for ever.
But you do have your scalextric to fall back on  :)

I think I will top up the fluids and just keep using it. It might still last longer than me.
Need to decide whether to bother doing the cambelt, or just keep driving it, possibly for years as a lot of other people have done in the past, oblivious to the 4 year / 49k limit.
Will have a think about it.  :-\
I was having a look at LS400/ 430 prices earlier as Ive always fancied one, but good ones go for quite serious money now.  ::)

The Scalextric is pretty much for commuting and is just an appliance like a washing machine. Need another car for longer journeys, and enjoyable driving.

I had similar symptons on my 3.2 - an annoying rumble / clunking on minor road imperfections. It went through an MOT last year with the issues which they never picked up on. I decided to do something about  beforevthis years MOT - new wishbones, drop links, dismantled the struts and fitted new top mounts (they were beginning to split)  and bearings, with new bump stops and gaiters. I tested the struts which were the originals, and they seemed to operate OK, so I refitted them, with the original springs shot blasted and powder coated.
Result - it's now quiet with no clunks or rumbles whatsoever. As to which component was at fault, I'm not certain but I would say the ball joints / drop links. And it now sits better.
