I'm sorry but no Vx related car stuff but I did some more work on our 72 VW camper. Been building a mildly hot enjin for it. Today I fitted the big valve ported heads and got half way through measuring the push rods for the correct lift

Do you mind if I ask where you got those from dude? Someone else on here has linked me some Tarox ones but they were a rather eye watering £230!

At £34 I can't see them lasting 5 minutes, you get what you pay for.

If you keep driving like that on public roads, my sympathy goes out to the poor sod who will be picking up your dismembered body parts from the carriageway (and enivitible those of the innocent people you kill, too).

Not trying to be holier than thou mate, we have all without exception done silly things, but at some point we do have to learn from them, and sadly for some, those lessons sometimes come too late..  130 on the motorway is not on..

Slow down, stay safe :y

Filled the boot with stuff.

Put more air in rear tyres

Heard pump run for longer than usual

Looked on Ebay for spring assistors

Wondered how long this one will last

Cried a little

Apologised to those who I promised not to do this to a 4th one

Went back in for more coffee

Elite Pete and myself have done both my front wheel bearings.
Job went perfectly for once.

Old were original GM marked KOYO and had done 119,000 miles and were well and truely knackered.

Replaced with genuine GM, also marked KOYO.

Huge difference in feel and ride quality.

Still have an annoying bizarre rattley clunk though.  Not that I really expected this to fix...but hope springs eternal.

Huge thanks to Pete for his help today, much appreciated.

Checked for a coolant leak .... inconclusive .... :(

Went to fit new bush to drivers door strap .. new one appears to be too small, so greased up the old one and put it back on .. door now moves silently.

Greased all 4 door straps while I was at it.

Removed glovebox in attempt to sort out non-functioning recirc valve ... eventually found all the bits in there, tested each bit, seemed to work, put it all back together, valve now works !!! - Strange :)

Many thanks to KW for his help/advice on the latter job !!!
