Posted separate about this, but I finally removed the Power Sounder and hit it with a hammer.
Batteries actually looked OK - no leaks - but as advised by EVERYONE on here - time it went after it started beeping when ignition switched off.

Secondly. I want to prevent my coil pack from disintegrating from the usual water drips from the scuttle.
I notice the bottom seal on the windscreen has come away which I believe may not help the problem.
What's the best stuff to use to re-seal it ?

It's a 3.2 Elite saloon, which needs a bit of work.  A good friend of mine has been after one for a while, but doesn't have a very big budget, so I'm hoping to get it back up to it's former glory and then let him have it.  :y

Apparently using the hammer on it is quite satisfying  :-\ :-\ :-\

Swapped battery on the Cavalier for a freshly charged one again.Fresh one is now flat as a witches tit a few hours later.Looks very like I have a battery drain to track down. :( Shouldnt be that much on  Diesel to drain the battery I wouldnt have thought. :-\
Removed the dispack from the breaker.
Drove my own Omega, and wondered what the humming noise is which seems to be coming from n/s/r,which goes away when the brake pedal is depressed.Sticky caliper/worn pads/handbrake shoes or linkage come adrift and stuck somewhere ? :-\
Not a good day all in.Nothing constructive achieved really. :(
Also spent quite a while in supermarket car parks, which never exactly cheers me up. :-X

Glowplugs? Not unknown for the contacts in a diesel's glowplug relay to weld themselves together.
