Annoying creak creak from above my head while driving  ::) the sunroof blind is closed so it must be that  ::) being so quiet in the elite you can hear any pin drop so to fix this creak a nice cardboard wedge stopped all trace of it  :) Least its not the droplinks this time  :( ;D

If you really try you can make it flash randomly, which will make it blow sooner 8)

Had to be a little more sensible with the hound in the back and also the cheapo rear tyres I'm running on, although I'm building confidence with them as they aren't as bad as I first thought ::)

I'm surprised actually after Tuesday's early morning run out to Peterborough :-X ::)

Today I am mostly reflecting on the costs for keeping Omega for next 12 months and whether to gamble on not changing cambelt for another year (it has done 25000 miles on belt in 4 years) which I know on here is equivalent of serious crime.

2 tyres needed,
geometry issue also related to above
fog light switch,
main service,
roll bar rattle to look at
plus cam belt

but also to consider

I am still running on patched up back box which has just got through MOT
Still having CID troubles (I do have a spare but getting sick of this issue of changeout almost every year)

As always I suppose I will end up doing the lot but tempting to move on.

2 tyres needed, Wear and tear, service item.
geometry issue also related to above, Wear and tear, again probably a service item given the state of the roads
fog light switch, Peanuts, and available seperately from the main switch, although removing requires patience.
main service,  Service item.
roll bar rattle to look at, Droplinks again practically a service item due to the roads
plus cam belt, Definitely a service item.

I am still running on patched up back box which has just got through MOT. Wear and Tear item, short journeys might not help.
Still having CID troubles (I do have a spare but getting sick of this issue of changeout almost every year) Aftermarket and replace CID with MID

Most of the above are regular sevicing jobs that the Omega needs to keep it happy :y Doing them will keep the car reliable for alot longer than not. You could do the small bits and skip the cambelt change, but then what happens if the belt goes  :-\ although the lottery there is not knowing...

The cost of these things is probably less than you could spend on sorting any issues on any car that you buy to replace it :-\

thanks Al - a lot of good advice and objective thinking there - the MID might be an option - not sure why CIDs are giving problem several months after repair. They never completely fail just wonder if it is something else to do with wiring.

Will give it more thought.
Short journey issue is unavoidable.

Best thing for the exhaust would be to wait until it falls off, then replace with good quality stainless, moisture from the short journeys would then become a much smaller issue  :y

Display issue could be a headunit problem if it's happening regularly, not sure how reliable they are tbh :-\ never had an Omega with a factory fitted radio...
