Sworn at it even more ... :(

Front TRE freed up with a bit of heat, no problem .. but the rears ... GRRRRRRR

Had to get the lock nuts to dull red before they shifted, but even getting the "tangs" to dull red - which is as hot as this torch will get them - they will not move ... there is now precious little left of the centre adjusting "nut" as the mole grips have slowly destroyed it, and I've used nearly a can of gas on one side alone ...... :(

Any ideas gratefully accepted ...   :(

Have you turned Mr Wood all Edwardian Al ? :o
Moi?  ;D

Only needs two gears for cross country backroads blasting... 1st and third ;D

Having a direct, precise and secure chassis helps too... although it does lack a bit of feel around the straight ahead :-\ not sure if that's zero toe or the fact it has a steering box, or both :-\ it's in no way wooly, it just doesn't tell you much...

Must get my manual roller skate taxed and tested.  ::)

Agreed on the chassis, too. Easily the most accurate Omega I've driven, but a bit more feedback would be nice. What tyres is it on currently?

Oh, and if I'd have thought about it, I'd have had a play with the servotronic config, as turning the assistance down on mine made a big improvement.

Hmm. ... and reading the other thread, you have your tyres pumped up as hard as concrete, don't you? I wonder if reducing the pressure would bring back a bit of feel? :-\

That's what mine was originally on. Set it to the lowest and it made a big difference.

Think Als is on the lowest pas assistance setting, when comparing it to mine.

Pressures are nearer full load than 'normal', possibly 38fr and 42rr :-\

Chris dropped them down to 'normal', but I soon put the back up as I found it became a blamanche when pressing on :-\ I'd put that in the personal preference category :-\

Will have to see what effect adding weight to the steering has :y

I presumed it was a case of what your used to Al?

Even Falkens don't tram line (as much) at 36psi. But the ride is .... unpleasant.

I had the same problem until I took them off - or are yours off already? :-\

Aye :y our cars are like chalk and cheese though... with a full tank of lpg your car probably weighs more, but with a lower centre of gravity, coupled with a lower chassis, it possibly handles better on balance.

That said, two seeminly identical cars can be completely different to drive, yours and TBE being a good example :-\

Try prying the tangs apart slightly with a hefty flat bladed screwdriver, then drown them in plus gas and try again with the heat...

As long as the mole grips still have summat to hold onto, the arms will continue to be serviceable :y true mole grips aren't as convenient as a spanner when it comes to adjustments, but they're no less effective :y
