Big thanks to Tunnie for coming around with his daughter to read suspension codes on the Phaeton with his VAGCOM. The VW dealer will now have some explaining to do as to why the fault code is exactly what the symptoms suggested and does not indicate at all what they were saying the codes were. Guys on the Phaeton site predicted before it went to the dealer what the fault was likely to be and that is what Tunnie has now proven.

Man thanks Mark

Scary a useless student with a crappy old Windows laptop and some software can do a better diagnosis than a dealer.  ;D

Interesting to see what VW say now  :)

Probably "Sorry Sir, but we can only report on what our official diagnostics say. You can't trust things you buy off the internet. So, shall we order the ECU in?" ;)

All I did was drive mine to the NEC and back on Sunday, came back £600 lighter having bought all the exterior lights for the kit car, carbide insert lathe tooling (you don't expect a little old lady from Sheffield to tell you "Are you sure you want that insert? I find these much better on ally, steel, stainless..", bits and bobs of tools etc.

Still, someone paid £11,500 in the auction for a BMW Isetta so I think I got away lightly :o ;D

Cant do a bloody thing. Ive assembled all the bitz to refurb the front suspension apart from the top mount bearings. Ordered them from ATP Germany nearly a fortnight ago, but no sign of them.
I emailed them on Tuesday. They apologised for the delay and said they would be dispatched within 48 hours !  ::)
So much for the fabled German efficiency.   ::)
They're fekkers for not updating with tracking numbers if you buy direct rather than ebay, but normally arrive within a week... normally dhl or dpd ;)

They emailed me this morning to inform me that they now have the parts packed and ready to go. They will email me again when DHL collect the package, at some indeterminate point in the future.
Two weeks and all they have done is stick an address label on ffs.
I emailed them back, told them they are appalling and useless and demanded an immediate refund, which I'm sure they will ignore.
Wont use them again as a matter of principle. Fackin Geymans. ::)
