So what do you think was causing the creak and knock?

Got an artifical hip?

Washed the Silver Bullet, as it was absolutely filthy. The front wheels were black.

Contemplating driving to Chester to steal Jimbob's OE pads ::)

You'll have to fight Laura for them!

Excellent, get the mud pit booked!
In a mudpit with Ljay :o

I'll pack my speedos ;D

Yesterday - Got a blow out on the van on my way to getting a service ::)

Today - Replaced the spare. Managed to get a 6 month old Conti (part worn by under 1mm, but as a spare I'm not too worried) for £29 all in with a lifetime guarantee :y

Just waiting for some work to come in now!

Philbutt - your car looks amazing!!  Great job there!  :y

Well today, I took 'Morticia' to Asda in Derby to get some LPG, at which point she promptly wouldnt restart (battery dead), so thankfully some burly chaps who'd been doing some work on the forecourt pushed her out of the way for me whilst I rang the RAC, who to their credit had a patrolman with me in 10 minutes.  He did some tests on the alternator and battery, and the alternator is faulty, so once he'd put some charge in the battery, I headed off to AVS Vauxhall breakers in Lenton, Nottingham, and got a replacement alternator (with guarantee) for £25  :D

All being well, we'll get that fitted over the weekend, and hopefully I'll have no more flat battery issues - today, due to it being cold (2.5C this morning) and foggy, I had lights, heater, fog lights and radio on, and as the RAC man said, the alternator couldnt cope with such a drain on it, and this was why the car wouldnt restart once I'd fuelled it up.
