Fixed a broken wire in the Galaxy's driver's door and now the central locking works :y

Tried to start it and found that the battery was flat :(

Same door looms as Alhambra then!
and VW Sharan. SWMBO's Golf is a little bit older but the door wiring is equally crap. ::)

Yesterday. Took me to lunch in Leamington Spa. Small place called 'Eleven'. French bistro. Excellent.  :y

Replaced both headlamps on the TD, NS had a broken mount, and had run out of steam trying to polish the OS lens. NS is now brand new OE at £60 from an OOFer, and OS was £44.40 pattern from Ace Car parts, which fits fine and appears good. Interestingly, the latter appears to have a removable lens held on by spring clips. I shall rescue the ally billet adjusters from the old lamps for if and when these go. :y
Annoyingly both Nightbreaker bulbs failed when fitted to the new lamps, so I guess they dont like being manhandled, even carefully avoiding touching the glass >:(

If you've got projector lenses in the TD, id suggest fitting aftermarket HD's to it. I did it to my 2.2 and the light output was greatly improved  :y Not strictly legal unless you have auto levelling suspension, but it never failed an MOT for them  ;)

Thanks TD, I did consider it (an earlier thread), but I find them more than satisfactory with Nightbreakers in, and I guess will be even better with new lamps. I rarely drive it at night anyway, as I use the Elite or SWMBO drives me in her Jazz, as she doesn't drink. 8) :y

You dont need to worry about HIDs being fitted, as long as the beam pattern is OK thats all the MoT tester will be looking for. You might need to install headlamp washers though... but auto levelling you dont need to worry about...

That's a grey area... technically the beam level should be self adjusting according to ride height at either end of the car.

Retaining the driver controlled beam level system as fitted to halogen equipped Omegas is bordering on the dubious side of legal.

Put another way, if GM hadn't needed to, they wouldn't have bothered fitting the xenon units with an ecu controlled levelling sytstem ;)

The problem is, I'm sure you keep them manually adjusted to avoid dazzling others - not everyone does though. (certainly around here)
