Removed MV6 LSC rear springs, levelling sensors with loom and fake Irmscher grill from the 2.6.

Also attempted to remove front shocks and springs but the light was failing in the barn (no electric) and I think I'm gonna need a bigger spanner....  ;D

Plusgas. Best invention ever.
7mm hex and a 24mm deep ring spanner... Job jobbed ;)
Strangely I do know what tools to use. I need a longer spanner so I can get some torque on it.

32 mm spanner interlocked should do it ;) gives you about 70 cm leverage...

Exactly. And large nyloc nuts are one of the reasons to justify even a cheap cordless windy gun.

Problem is that you need to stop the shock spinning with a hex so anything that totally covers the nut is no use.

It's  not rocket science, use a spanner on the nut and turn the shock hex with your ratchet/windy gun**. You do need a good quality Allen socket, but that's true for any internal drive bolt.

If you need a hand with anything one weekend, VXL V6, just shout :y

Give the dark evenings, I don't think after work would be productive.

Cheers TB, I'm getting there slowly. Just want to liberate the 40K MV6 front springs and poly bushes then everything else is simple stuff I've done before - bonnet, bumper and anything else I discover I need.

Bloody cold now but I've just removed 140ml of water from 2,4 and 6 plug wells then finished the job off by sealing the scuttle.  :y

Over the last few days I have watched Mark do an oil cooler on the omega and a cambelt kit on the zafira. Thanks very much Mark. Much appreciated :)

Fitted new brake flexis and pipes to the front. Wondered why there was fluid pouring out when brake applied. Rescued old flexis from bin, transferred copper washers onto new flexis, refitted. Had celebratory cuppa. Bled brakes... now have a working MV6. I give it three days before he throws his dolly out of the pram again...

Now to buy a small tin of Z157 paint and give the rear arch a pikey paintjob, on the basis that I could glue some foil to it and it would look better than it does now...

Just took the roof box off the estate after our 800 mile round trip to Scotland over Christmas. The Elite now needs a bloody good clean and service plus a few other jobs. BuT first have to put the gearbox back in the wife's Discovery after the flexi plate snapped on me.

Discovered that three days was an overestimate.  Road trsted after brake work, parked up, went to start it a while later and the crank sensor has decided that the time to give up is when im slap bangin the middle of the drive,  blocking all the other cars in... youve gotta laugh! :D
