Mine technically, knock for knock would have been ok, as I would have seen summat for getting the side painted, but with no witnesses, ie no one else stopped, I basically have to lump it. Could have been alot worse and I lucked out wrt panels...

All in all, the year can only improve ::)

Looking at damage, guessing you've had to change lanes, but a car was already there

Aye... I did glance as I moved over and saw nothing in either mirror or immediately next to me. I was doing about 40-45 and still indicating from joining the dc (dc limit there is 60), so he must have been a couple of feet off my rear quarter and belting it as I moved over. He didn't even brake when he went onto the central reservation, just let the gravel trap/mud/bushes do their thing... Even so, it still took him nearly three hundred yards to actually stop :-X

Insurers figured that it was easier all round to just admit liability and leave it at that rather than dragging the whole process out.

Probably had cruise set and was busy updating his Facebook status / texting the Mrs.... Not that that's ever caused an accident in the last two months of course :-X >:(

Over the last few days I have watched Mark do an oil cooler on the omega and a cambelt kit on the zafira. Thanks very much Mark. Much appreciated :)

Quite enjoyed doing the oil cooler, it's good to know I can still remember the procedure
Good to know in case the Bullet decides to eat one :P, as its 17yrs old....   ....although I'm not sure if we did cooler as a matter of course the first time we did the head gaskets all those years ago? Can you remember?

Mark did mention he 'normally' reseals them as part of a headgasket job as so accessible.

Watching the job I can see why some would bend the pipes, rather than loosen at oil filter end, but I wouldnt want that route seeing how much they would be bent by!

for the record, the cooler was ok, just the lid was pissing out coolant.

With the right tools its a piece of cake to slacken the lower pipes,  IME.

Finally got the knackered CCR2006 out and replaced with new Sony unit. And retrieved my CDs stuck in the mag. :)

Maybe off topic but will probably have to do my Head Gaskets on the 2.5 how easy with heads off is it to change stem seals and is there any special tool require or just a bog standard seal plier?

They are quite deep in the tappet holes, so it's a bit fiddly. I tapped mine into place with a suitably sized deep socket.

You will need a valve spring compressor that will reach down into the holes.
